It's a tasty and healthy dish, easy to prepare and low in calories! This is a Greek recipe for making burgers, served with some lemon juice. We combined those Greek burgers with an American style mashed potato side dish we love.

For the burgers
- 600gr/21oz or 1.3pounds minced beef
- 1 medium sized onion finely chopped
- 40gr/1.4oz fine breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/4 bunch parsley, finely chopped
- 3 tablespoons spearmint, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons wine vinegar
- 60ml (1/4 cup) milk
- 60ml (1/4 cup) olive oil
- lemon juice from 1 small lemon
- salt and pepper

For the mashed potatoes
- 4-5 potatoes (around 1kg/2.2 pounds or 35.2oz), chopped in cubes
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 garlic clove, trimmed
- 1/2 cup parsley, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg powder
- 120ml (1/2 cup) milk
- salt and pepper

For the mashed potatoes
Boil the potatoes in lightly salted water. Put them in a large bowl and mash them well. Add butter and garlic. Stir. Pour the milk, add salt, pepper, nutmeg, the parsley and stir. Leave aside, keeping it warm.

For the burgers
Put all the ingredients together a large bowl and mix well. Mold into burgers (1,5-2cm/0.6-0.8inch thick) and put them in a nonstick frypan. Cook for 12-15 minutes (turn once after 7-8 minutes) on medium heat. Remove them from the pan and pour the lemon juice. Serve in a large dish with the mashed potatoes. Enjoy!

1. Cook the burgers, according to your preferences. Some want them well-done some medium.
2. You can accompany with a salad, depending on the season. In the summer you can make a Greek salad;during the winter a lettuce or spinach salad is a much better choice.
